Meet Devyn
Background
I found my passion for social work during my undergraduate degree while volunteering for a grief support group for children who have lost their parents. I went on to earn my graduate degree at the University of Denver and my License in Clinical Social Work. I now have over 10 years of clinical experience treating depression, anxiety, grief and relationship problems. I have worked for many years with clients who are chronically ill (heart failure, cancer, neurological disorders) as well as their families as they face life transitions.Â

I grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona and enjoy spending time outside in the mountains including hiking and skiing. I also love to read, travel and watch sports with my husband. I have a black lab named Mikko who might say hello from time to time.Â

"She's very nice and helpful in explaining things and praising my accomplishments. She's patient and cares about my feelings. She was always available when I needed her and responded quickly. Everything she offered worked in helping through a hard time. I look forward to continuing to better myself and if I need further help I'll be sure I reach out to her again." -Former client
My Philosophy
I believe therapy should be a collaborative and individual experience. I want sessions to feel useful whether that is helping you to identify your personal values and goals, processing difficult emotions experienced, or problem solving and skill building in preparation for new challenges that may arise. Between sessions I ask that clients apply skills, notice and reflect on their experiences so that we can then tackle real life scenarios during our sessions together.Â
Â
My approach to therapy primarily includes skills from ACT (Acceptance and Comittment Therapy) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have a compassionate yet direct approach to help clients identify their own thought patterns and then learn to adapt them for a healthier and happier life.Â
Â
I am passionate about providing care for individuals from all backgrounds and want to learn from you about how your personal and community experiences have shaped your own identity and core beliefs.
